Privacy policy

This policy explains what Information and Communications Services Limited does with personal information. It is written to be read, rather than to be technically compliant and incomprehensible.

Who we are

Information and Communications Services Limited, NZBN 9429041577776, of 1191 Eruera Street, Rotorua 3010, New Zealand. This website is icsservices.nz. Questions about privacy go to info@icsservices.nz.

What we collect

  • Information you give us. Your name, company, email address, phone number and whatever you write in an enquiry or a job application.
  • Service data. Where ICS manages your systems, we necessarily hold configuration and operational information about them, and the support tickets you raise.
  • Technical data from this website. Standard server logs including IP address and browser type, kept for security and diagnostics.

This site does not run comments, and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and to quote for work
  • To deliver and support the services you have engaged us for
  • To meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations
  • To assess job applications where you have applied to us

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it so that somebody else can market to you.

Who we share it with

Only where it is necessary to deliver the service: suppliers and carriers involved in providing what you have bought, professional advisers, and anyone we are legally required to disclose to.

Where a lawful authority makes a valid request under the relevant law, we comply. This is relevant for carrier customers, and is set out in more detail on the carrier services page.

Where it is held, and for how long

Information is held for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and for as long as the law requires afterwards. Enquiries that do not become work are not kept indefinitely.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Write to info@icsservices.nz and we will respond within the statutory timeframe.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Security

We apply the same controls to our own systems that we recommend to customers: access limited by role, activity logged, credentials rotated, and administrative access restricted to known addresses. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if something material happens.
